-Promise of God’s Presence
Exodus 33:18-23
vs.23b
“And the Lord said, Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock. So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by. Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen.”
-The vision He gave me and His heart behind it.
As I was falling asleep a couple of weeks ago, Holy Spirit showed a vision to me of a HUGE cliff with MAJESTIC mountains all around. There was a person who was rock climbing to the top of the treacherous mountain. Next I saw one of those tent/sleeping bags that extreme rock climbers use when they are on the side of steep mountains. It allows the climbers to rest and bring safety while they work their way to the top.
I was immediately taken, in my heart and mind, to the old hymn “Rock of Ages”. The part that says, “Rock of Ages cleft for me let me hide myself in thee”. The importance of CLEFT... was highlighted in my spirit.
As I read scripture it brought me to Exodus 33:18-23. SO SO POWERFUL!
What season do you currently find yourself going through... I’m discovering In my own life this scripture brings me to a holy reverence and love for our Heavenly Father. As we seek Him in all seasons... easy or hard, He is there! He is saying ((insert your name)) you have found grace in My sight and I know you by name.
My goodness the Creator of the Universe who spoke to Moses in this scripture knows you and I on this same level! Plus, of course, we have our precious Savior, Jesus who paid it ALL and who sent Holy Spirit who guides, leads, reveals, and comforts us.
My Heart is for each of us to say, ‘please show me Your glory!’ This word I felt specifically for those sweet women who are in deep broken areas of life and you feel completely stripped of all support and comfort. Guess what beloved one? Just like the extreme climber and how they have gained skills to complete a most treacherous task.... Jesus is the cleft of the rock for us. Holy Spirit so sweetly reminds, teaches, and provides the right tools to make the journey to the top of the mountain. Where the view is above all the circumstances... it’s where we see and hear clearly, with His eyes and His ears.
It’s a powerful moment when we envision ourselves covered by Jehovah-Nissi (which means the Lord is my Banner). In the scripture below, the Lord said “here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock. So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by.“
Father literally placed Moses in the cleft of the rock and covered him with HIS hand, while He passed by.
He is gracious, loving, and in this scripture shows such compassion. He meets you right where you are at! He hides you in the cleft of the rock.

Exodus 33:17-23
“So the LORD said to Moses, “I will also do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name.” And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.” Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” But He said, “You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live.” And the LORD said, “Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock. So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by. Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen.””
